About our team

Meet our crew

Mark Evans

Owner

I was introduced to the world of boating in 1997, when I experienced the Sea of Cortez Cup in La Paz, Mexico with the previous owners of Windworks! That trip changed my life, and because of it, I became the owner of Windworks in 2013.

Welcome to Windworks Sailing & Powerboating.  Very honored having US Sailing and Powerboat certifications available at beautiful Shilshole (Seattle) and Cap Sante Marinas (Anacortes)!  Thank you to our wonderful office and dock staff for the opportunity to serve the Pacific Northwest Sailing and Powerboat community.

Susan Evans

Owner & Marketing Manager

I’m having fun using my many years of sales and marketing experience from various corporations and non-profits to promote WWSC.   I love that we help people to achieve their dreams of adventure on the water.   I’ve spent more time on hiking and running trails with ‘Lilly’ and ‘Chester’ but since 2013, I have also enjoyed learning all about sailing and power boating.

Victor Evans

Dock Manager, Certified Professional Yacht Broker, US Sailing & Powerboating Instructor, USCG 50 Ton Masters License

Born and raised in beautiful Seattle, I grew up on and around boats, and I’ve been helping clients get out on the water since 2013. Over this time I’ve developed a deep knowledge of the market as well as yacht handling and systems, and I use this experience to connect clients to the right yacht.

I love to teach, and I devote substantial time teaching new-to-yachting and experienced clients how to master their vessels, and always work to make sure clients are very comfortable before leaving the dock. You’ll frequently find me on the docks with clients or out on the water ensuring our fleet of yachts are at peak performance.

Looking forward to sailing with you soon.

For a few seasons I have been part of the Windworks and have enjoyed every second. I enjoy working with our members and helping folks meet their sailing goals here at Windworks. Laura Gray

Office Staff

As a transplant to the Pacific Northwest, I am just getting started on my boating journey. Recently certified in basic powerboating, I’m excited to spend more time on the water here in Puget Sound and earn my sailing certifications in the future. I look forward to seeing you in the office and out on the water!

Mark Knighton

Lead Marine Technician

My love affair with the ocean after a 20-year career in education, including a 7-year stint on the faculty of the University of Hawaii. I have a BA in History and a Masters in Educational Leadership. I began my maritime career working for NOAA in pursuit of a 3rd Mate Unlimited License and was fortunate to serve on the bridge on cruises across the North Pacific and Inside Passage.

After getting married, I focused on yacht repair and maintenance earning certifications from both the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) and the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA). I am classified as a Master Technician through ABYC with certifications in Diesel Engines, Gasoline Engines and Marine Electrical applications. With NMEA, I am a certified Marine Electronics installer. This blend of professional training paired with years of practical experience, I have the skills to keep the Windworks fleet as well maintained and operational as it is beautiful.

If you see me on the dock, please don’t hesitate to say “Aloha” or ask any questions you may have, I am always happy to assist in any way I can.
