Welcome to Windworks Power-Boating pages

Ready About
Located on the Puget Sound, just 6 miles north of Seattle, our location is convenient, breathtaking, and offers direct access to sailing and powerboating on the Sound. Our location, in the geographic center of the Puget Sound, offers a large variety of great cruising destinations to the North, South, and West - including scenic day and multi-day itineraries.

While WIND WORKS SAILING CENTER has been the premier sailing club in the Pacific Northwest since 1992, we are expanding our boating knowledge and training expertise to include powerboats. If you are new to powerboating, or have had some experience with powerboats but you want to move to larger vessels, or just want to improve your skills and safety on the water, then you have come to the right place.

We take time to understand your boating goals, and evaluate any current powerboating skills that you may have to date. From there, we use the US SAILING building block teaching approach which combines teaching practical skills and a stimulating, safe environment aboard the boats. As you progress through each powerboat certification level, you will be able to go boating on your own on vessels appropriate to that level, and in appropriate weather conditions and within navigational limits. - building confidence at that level. This stair step approach of “learn, go boating, learn, go boating” is a proven method of taking you to from basic powerboating on smaller outboard or I/O vessels for the day all the way to cruising a large 42 foot twin screw diesel sedan or trawler thought he San Juan Island for a week. And, it can all be done at your pace, and as you progress naturally and confidently. Come learn to powerboat with us.

Part of the “learn to powerboat” process involves getting familiar with a variety of vessels that match various skill levels. Wind Works is building a fleet of powerboats, ranging form 25-foot basic outboard runabout vessels up to 43-foot cruising powerboats. Whether you are an experienced boater looking for a variety of chartering opportunities, or a new student progressing through the fleet for new boating experiences, we are building a powerboat fleet that is ready to go for the day, weekend, or week.

The Wind Works Sailing and Powerboating club is designed to be your home for boating instruction, charter, and social “on-the-water” time. Use the vessels as you would your own, exploring the Sound with friends and family. Start boating from scratch, or improve your existing skills through the club at your own pace. We offer very individualized attention in helping you meet your goals. All of this is offered in an affordable, convenient way. Your access to boating is as close as your phone!
