| If you are looking for sailing
lessons for
yourself or your family, WIND WORKS has something for everyone in our “PRIVATE SERIES”
. Especially designed for students who live more than a 1/2 day
drive from Windworks, or for those who would like to have private lessons
tailored to their own availability, then the Adventure Series is for you.
For beginners, the Basic Keelboat Adventure series is a custom private 2 day course for up to two people. It includes everything in the regular Basic Keelboat course, including certification. You choose the two consecutive weekdays and we provide the instructor and the boat. In addition, you can live aboard one of our vessel during your stay. See "lesson pricing" for cost information, and "lesson description" for course standards and goals. After the course, you will be able to sail basic keelboats (25 - 30') with tiller steering and outboard power in familiar waters and moderate weather condition for daysailing. If you are already experienced on smaller keelboats, then sign up for a three day US SAILING Basic Cruising course. Up to six in your private party, of which two can be students for certification. You pick the three weekdays and we provide the instructor and larger cruising boat. Live aboard and sail a modern 36‘ - 49‘ sailboat for an unforgettable trip afloat in the beautiful PACIFIC NORTHWEST. After the course, you will be able to sail Basic Cruising keelboats (30 - 40') with wheel steering and inboard diesel auxiliary power in familiar waters and moderate weather condition for daysailing. Please note prerequisites for the BASIC CRUISING certification For Bareboat cruising, a customized three to five day format is followed. You bring crew of up to six, with up to two students working on certification, and we provide the instructor and large cruising sailboat. After this course, you will be certified at the US SAILING BAREBOAT level, and be capable of multiday chartering large cruising sailboats in locations all over the world. Please note prerequisites for the BAREBOAT CRUISING certification, which includes Navigation and Piloting. Navigation and Piloting is also offered on a private one-on-one basis - call for details. On each trip, you‘ll experience the cruising lifestyle in a personal way. Enjoy quaint harbor towns, shore-side shopping, and remote bay anchorage. Some of your group may be working on sailing skills and certification levels while others may be opting for doing nothing but relaxing and watching the world go by...either way, each trip is sure to be an experience to be remembered for a lifetime....
