Having fun in the club

        Windworks Sailing Club Profile...

Club Profile and Philosophy:

Our club is a diverse group of people who share a love of sailing. We are made up of all types of sailors, women and men, young and old, single and married. The make up of the club is about 50-50 men and women (counting married couples). The average age is probably about 35 - 40. The club staff of 7 full time and 15 part time professionals, in conjunction with the members themselves, offer a support and sailing access system that both new and experienced sailors will appreciate! We believe that the richest part of sailing is the community that is involved! All club members are invited to share their personal profile in our club member's only WINDSHARE area, which is designed as a tool for members to meet other sailors with common interests, and to put together sailing groups. This is a popular way that members are using today to get more time on the water, share the costs, share the experience, build experiences, and to meet new people who share a love for sailing.

Once you are trained and have been immersed in a variety of sailing and boating experiences, a whole new world of adventure and fun is open to you, your friends, and family. That's what it is all about. That's why here at Wind Works Sailing Center you will find a vibrant home base where you can learn sailing and powerboating and enjoy the boating lifestyle. Whether brand new to sailing, or a veteran boater looking for a way to reconnect, Wind Works Sailing Center provides a convenient, affordable home for your sailing success, lessons, charters, club, social and group sailing events.

Teaching Philosophy:

We specialize in teaching people to sail and powerboat with confidence. We take time to understand your goals, and evaluate any current boating skills that you may have to date. From there, we use the US SAILING KEELBOAT building block teaching approach which combines teaching practical skills in a stimulating, safe environment aboard the boats. As you progress through each certification level, you will be able to sail or powerboat on your own, on vessels appropriate to that level, and in appropriate weather conditions and within navigational limits. - building confidence at that level. This stair step approach of "learn, sail, learn, sail" is a proven method of taking you from basic daysailing or powerboating on 25 foot vessels for the day all the way to cruising a large 47 foot vessel. And, it can all be done at your pace, as you progress naturally and confidently. Come learn to sail and powerboat with us.

Sailing the Boats:

Ensuring your success means going beyond offering quality sailing and powerboating lessons. Our approach is to offer you a rich array of sailing or powerboating experiences tailored to your skills as they grow. Wind Works has a fleet of 30 vessels, ranging form 25-foot basic daysailing vessels up to 47-foot cruising sailboats, large catamarans, and a growing fleet of cruising powerboats. Whether you are an experienced sailor looking for a variety of sailing opportunities, or a new student progressing through the fleet for new sailing and powerboating experiences, our charter fleet is ready to go for the day, weekend, or week.
